Perry’s Divorce Packs Pews

Though Katy Perry’s parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, are extremely devout evangelicals and therefore less likely to support her divorce to Russel Brand, their support of Perry since the announcement of her divorce has drawn many people to the Hudson’s congregation.

Last Sunday more than 300 showed up at Church on the Rise in Westlake Ohio, where the Hudsons are pastors. This crowd is much bigger than the Hudsons are used to, despite their daughter’s fame.

During the service, Perry’s father openly supported his daughter. He told the congregation not to judge or be critical of others and to not shut out loved ones.  He went on to say, “I love my daughter and I will always love her”.
