Forget the once heralded bachelorette party, divorce parties are becoming all the rage for newly divorced couples, especially women. As NYmag reports “Divorce,” is the new engaged.”

It all makes sense really. Just as a bachelorette party is meant to celebrate a woman’s departure from the single life, these divorce parties allow women to re-enter the single dating world with a bang.  Many of these parties include gratuitous drinking, partying and a flat out good time. And underneath the fun demeanor they can serve as a method of closure.
