Man divorces his wife due to her 550 cats in their home

Marriage is an institution that is supposed to have couples loving one another through thick and thin, sickness and health, and all that good stuff. Nowhere has it ever said though that one must put up with the insanity of the other. Such is the case of the man from Southern Israel who had enough of his wife and her 550 cats.

A man advised the Rabbinical Court in Beersheba that he had to get a divorce from his wife due to her hundreds of cats she brought into the home as pets. He said that the cats blocked access to the bathroom, did not allow him to prepare meal, and also caused problems in the bedroom.

It appears as if there were so many cats that he was actually unable to sleep in the bedroom. He stated that the surface of the marital bed was constantly covered with cats and they absolutely refused to lie on the floor.

The Hebrew Daily Maariv reported on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 that the man’s divorce request also advised the cats would jump on the table and steal his food when he tried to eat.
