After the divorce one will face many new challenges and the biggest of those is learning to live on one income instead of two. Even if one is receiving spousal support, the new financial burden may be something unfamiliar.
Finding a way to save money is a great starting point. A recent article that was published in the Huffington Post talks about money matters post divorce.
“Reducing expenses after divorce is a must for most parents. While some personal finance experts espouse cutting out cafe lattes, the truth is that doesn’t work. Making cuts in the big ticket expenses, rather than trying to eliminate all of your fun, means that you will be able to have your cake and latte, too. (Let’s face it, austerity measures suck, whereas having fewer bills and being able to treat your kids to hot chocolate and yourself to a caramel macchiato can be just what the doctor ordered on a cold winter night.)”, states the article.
It is all about saving money where you can, but still allowing one to have fun and enjoy life.
