Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Are Splitting Up

After seven years of marriage and two children, this week Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced that they would be getting a divorce. They said in a joint statement to People, “We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

The couple was married in Beverly Hills in 2004 and renewed their vows in 2008 and in 2010. This was Anthony’s second marriage and Lopez’s third. Lopez’s career was reborn this past year with her work as a judge on “American Idol” and her new album, Love?

The divorce complicates the couple’s recent decision to launch a clothing line with Kohls and shoot a reality TV series together. Sources say the two will continue to shoot the show together, but that the line will continue to be “two separate, distinctive collections.”
