“Off With Her Head”

Have you ever gotten angry at your spouse?  Muzzammil Hassan, a former TV executive, allegedly took getting angry at his wife to another level.

Mr. Hassan is charged with the gruesome crime of beheading his spouse.  Hassan and his wife were native to Pakistan. Hassan was the founder of Bridges TV, a television channel aimed at counteracting the negative image that Muslims may have had in the NYC area after the Sept 11th attacks. If he is truly guilty of this heinous crime, the only description of Mr. Hassan that seems to fit here is “hypocrite.”

Different cultures have different view points on the subject of divorce. His wife, Aasiya Hassan, had started the filing process to get a divorce. In a recent article published on Foxnews.com, states that the grounds for divorce were cruel and inhuman treatment. Aasiya’s divorce lawyer also states, in the same article, “She was very much aware of the potential ramification her filing for divorce might have,” said attorney Elizabeth DiPirro, whose law firm, Hogan Willig, represented Aasiya Hassan in divorce proceedings. “But she wanted to proceed despite the potential for it to erupt.”
