Steve Carell Talks About Divorce in His New Movie

Steve Carell’s new film, “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” which opened this past Friday, deals with divorce and infidelity. In the movie, Carell plays a man whose wife admits to cheating on him and asks for a divorce. He spoke to The Huffington Post about the character he plays and how he deals with divorce.

During the interview, Carell explains that his new movie reveals how “powerful and emotionally draining” a divorce can be on a family. He also discusses how he valued the movie for having no clear “villain,” but instead having a couple where each party has flaws. Though in the movie his wife has the affair, his character also acknowledges responsibility for what had happened.

“Everyone is flawed and everyone makes mistakes and is culpable,” he said.
