NY Legislators Approve No-Fault Divorce

It is now easier in New York to end a marriage. The State legislators overwhelmingly approved no-fault divorce, permitting couples to split without one of the spouses taking the blame for the marriage’s failure. The assembly approved the bill 113 to 19; 2 weeks after the Senate passed the plan. New York was the last state in the nation without some form of no-fault divorce. A spokesperson for Governor Patterson said he will review it. Supporters are holding on, optimistic he will sign it.
